The Cosmo Player and Asset Detail View
When opening an asset in Cosmo, you enter the Asset Detail View. This view provides media playback, technical metadata, and proxy control.
1. Media Playback
The Cosmo Player enables smooth and precise playback directly in the browser.
To preview an asset:
Click on the asset.
Press the Play button to start playback.

Keyboard Shortcuts
Playback & Volume
Space / K — Play / Pause
M — Mute / Unmute
R — Toggle loop playback
F — Toggle fullscreen
Navigation (Time & Frames)
J / L — Seek backward / forward 10 seconds
Arrow Left / Right — Seek backward / forward 1 frame
Shift + Arrow Left / Right — Seek backward / forward 10 frames
Home / End — Jump to the beginning or end of the video
Markers (In / Out Points)
I / O — Set IN or OUT point at the current time
Shift + I / O — Jump to the IN or OUT point
Esc — Clear both IN and OUT points
These shortcuts allow for frame-accurate navigation and efficient review workflows.
2. Technical Metadata
Detailed technical information about an asset can be accessed via the Metadata panel.
To open it:
Click the Metadata icon while viewing the asset.
A side panel will open displaying file details such as:
Bitrate
Codec
Resolution
Additional format-specific metadata
This information helps technical users verify file specifications and delivery requirements.

3. Proxy Selection
The Cosmo Player allows you to manually switch between available proxy qualities.
To change the proxy:
Click the Proxy Selection button.
Choose the desired quality.
Playback will switch to the selected proxy automatically.
Why Use Proxy Selection?
Lower proxy qualities reduce bandwidth usage.
Playback is smoother on slower or unstable internet connections.
Buffering and playback interruptions are minimized.
Users can optimize performance based on current network conditions.
